We recently converted over to AD and Advanced Security. We are now
getting the following error.

SMS Distribution Manager failed to access the source directory
"\\Servername\folder" for package "CCC00006". The operating system
reported error 5: Access is denied.

Possible cause: SMS Distribution Manager does not have sufficient
rights to the package source directory.
Solution: Verify that the SMS Service account has at least Read access
to the directory you specify as the package source directory.

We have checked the permissions on the share and the NTFS and they seem
correct. We have the actual DOMAIN\SERVERNAME on the NTFS permissions
for full control and the Everyone Group added to the Share permissions.
Does anyone know why this doesn't work?

Did you add the site server computer$ account to the local administrators
group on the distribution points?
That's the most common issue.
In the Scenarios and Procedures for SMS 2003: Security there is a checklist
you can use to make sure you got all the right accounts in the right groups
after you go to advanced security. You can reach the S&P books from our SMS
doc page:
http://www.microsoft.com/smserver/techinfo/productdoc/default.mspx
Hope that helps,

Yep tried that. I am not sure why it keeps giving the error. I have
tried every single account scenerio out there. I was talking with our
AD consultant and he said that his Microsoft sources told him that we
would have to reinstall SMS since it was already installed before we
went to AD. Apparently this is turning out to be true.
